Our Story

OUR STORY

Falling in love isn’t always what you expect it to be. We grew up on different continents and in completely different cultures, never imagining a love like this could find us. We had both been searching for someone to share our lives with, but it never felt right, until we each happened to find each other on a dating app called Hinge.

After just two weeks of talking, we both felt something special—something worth fighting for—so we closed the dating app and chose to focus on each other.

From there, things moved with a beautiful ease. After many romantic dates where Tim did everything he could to win her heart, he succeeded. Six months later, they traveled to Colombia to visit Jessie’s family. After only two weeks of knowing her dad, Tim bravely asked for Jessie’s hand in marriage—thankfully, her dad did not think he was a crazy gringo.

A year and a half later, all the steps they took together grew into something beautiful: a love built with intention, gratitude, and faith. With God’s guidance and a promise to care for each other always, they’re ready to start their family and walk through life hand in hand.

From Hinge icebreakers to a life filled with love, culture, laughter, travel, and a Hawaii engagement—our story has been magic from the start.

XOXO

Getting There

GETTING

THERE

For this trip, we recommend staying in Bogotá for the nights leading up to the wedding, as well as the night of the wedding. We will be providing transportation from Bogotá to Subachoque on the wedding day. Please keep in mind that the drive can take up to 2 hours, as Bogotá is ranked as the 4th most congested city in the world, so traffic can be unpredictable. Thank you in advance for your patience.

After the celebration, we will also provide return transportation back to the city with multiple shuttle times. The ride back will be much faster, since there’s almost no traffic at night.

We also highly recommend booking airport transportation directly through your hotel, as it’s usually the easiest and most cost-effective way to get from the airport to your destination. Taxis are available at the airport as well, but arranging it through the hotel is often simpler and more economical.

For all these reasons, we suggest choosing one of the hotels we’ve listed, as they are located in the same area of Bogotá, making all transportation smoother and much easier for everyone.

**If you are part of the wedding party, please contact the bride and groom directly for logistics/ transportation on that day. Thank you.**

WHAT TO DO IN COLOMBIA

We can’t wait to celebrate with you in Colombia! Here’s what you need to know:

Colombia is a country full of beauty, color, and incredible variety. Despite its size, it offers almost every type of climate and landscape you can imagine—warm tropical beaches, cool mountain towns, lush valleys with mild weather, and even snowy peaks like the famous Nevado del Ruiz. One of the best things about Colombia is that the weather stays consistent year-round, so you can enjoy all these experiences no matter when you visit.

There are countless places to explore—from historic cities and charming small towns to natural parks, coffee regions, and Caribbean coasts. If you’d like to learn more about the many destinations Colombia has to offer, you can find helpful information at the following link:

Please keep in mind that you’ll be flying into Bogotá, Colombia’s largest and most connected city. If you plan to explore other regions before or after the wedding, booking additional flights from Bogotá is very easy and usually the most convenient option. We recommend returning to Bogotá before flying back home, especially if you choose to take a separate trip beyond the couple’s post-wedding plans.

Friendly Tip

Bogotá is exciting, but it’s best to stay aware. Staying close to your hotel and near others in the group makes it easier to plan activities safely and enjoy the city together.
